Carl Cafagna is one of Detroit’s leading musicians, who’s performed on saxophones, clarinet, flute, drums and voice with Mel Torme, The Temptations, Johnny Mathis, Natalie Cole, the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra, the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra and many others. He holds a Bachelor of Music (Performance) from Berklee College of Music (Boston), and a Master of Music (Jazz Studies, with a Minor in Music Theory) from Western Michigan University, and began his musical studies at Michigan State University. Carl is a dedicated family man, married to an MEA local President, with 4 children. A Local 5 member since 2001, he was elected Secretary-Treasurer in 2021.
