He has appeared on the “Mitch Albom Show” numerous times. Rich developed his art with players of no less stature than Wynton Marsalis, Billy Eckstine, Jon Faddis and Dave Samuels of Spyro Gyra. As leader of the Brazil and Beyond band, Rich has enjoyed seeing his group’s latest CD, Sounds of the Holidays, named “Outstanding World Recording” in the 2006 Detroit Music Awards competition. In 2004, the group’s Beatles CD also received this prestigious award from the Motor City Music Foundation.
Rich, the teacher, is heavily involved in education as adjunct faculty at Oakland University, Henry Ford Community College, Schoolcraft College and Macomb Community College.
