    Kenneth G. Robinson began playing trumpet at age 12. Robinson grew up on the east side of Detroit a few blocks from St. Raymond Catholic Church where Lawrence Przybysz (on this album) was the Organist and Minister of Music. At age 15, Robinson’s good friend, Robert Slowik, introduced Robinson to Przybysz. After hearing recordings of Maurice Andre, Robinson trained in his parents’ living room by practicing along with the Andre recordings.
    Kenneth Robinson attended Interlochen Music Camp for many summers and was a Concerto Competition Winner. In the spring of 1991, he met and studied with his boyhood hero, Maurice Andre, at the New York Brass Conference. Robinson’s teachers also include Bill Beger, Brian Moon, Russel Green, William Horner, Jean Moorehead, Jim Underwood, Armando Ghitalla, Chris Jaudes, Walter White, Jerome Callet, Gordon Smith, Gordon Stump, Kevin Good, Bill Lucas, and Gene Porkorney.
    Robinson graduated from East Detroit High School in 1986 and attended Wayne State University on a full talent scholarship and has been featured in numerous TV and radio commercials as well as having performed and recorded with the Lake St. Clair Symphony, Rochester Symphony, Ann Arbor Symphony, Warren Symphony, Michigan Opera Theatre, Livonia Symphony, Musica Sacra, International Symphony, Moody Blues, Harry Belafonte, Jerry Lewis, Frankie Ruiz, Lalo Rodriguez, Sponge, ICP, Snoop Dog, Josh Bramhall, Spyder Turner, The Temptations, The O’Jays, Reggie Watkins, A-List, and Maynard Ferguson & Big Bop Nouveau.
