Trumpeter David Houston is a native of Michigan, and Local 5 member for over 30 years. David has been a frequent performer with most of the orchestras in the Detroit Area including the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, along with the Warren, Dearborn and Birmingham orchestras. David was a member and recording artist of the Detroit Concert Band for 17 years. He has also served as Solo Trumpet of the American Ballet Theatre and has performed throughout the U.S. and Mexico on tour.

David's principal teachers have included Frank Kaderabek of the Philadelphia Orchestra and Louis Davidson of the Cleveland Orchestra, while studying at the Indiana University School of Music.
